Lucky Boba is a small boba tea shop located at the heart of downtown Calgary made by 5 college buddies. They are not just a boba tea brand but a cozy and bright experience that is about spreading luck and positivity to everyone who visits them.
From the first swirl of our creamy teas to the playful pop of our boba pearls, every element of Lucky Boba is crafted to brighten even the most boring corporate businessman in downtown Calgary. I was tasked to create a brand identity that incorporates elements of fun and brightness with the usage of bright colors and playful typefaces. I also collaborates with a team to shoot a silly commercial for advertising purposes.

These four words encapsulate the brand's feeling. Every design decision was guided by these words. This project was heavily inspired by the concept of "playing" in graphic design proposed by New York-based designer Jessica Walsh.
For the logo design, I chose a simple yet cute approach. I used the Yorkmade typeface to achieve the desired look, adding a quirky touch with tiny boba pearls on the letter "A," which are shaped like a three-leaf clover.
This color palette is a harmonious blend of soft pastels, bold pops of color, and grounding neutrals, creating a versatile and modern feel. The soft hues like Peach, Pink, Mint Green, and Taro Purple bring a calming and whimsical vibe, while the bold Blue, Yellow, and Red add energy, confidence, and playfulness. To complement the brand's bubbly and playful personality, the typefaces Yorkmade and Pangram Sans Rounded have been chosen.
Just some fun and cute illustrations used for visual purposes. These illustrations can be seen in the commercial.
These marketing materials are used both inside and outside the store. All of the brand assets like the logo, fonts, colors, and illustrations are used to create designs that share one visual identity.
